❓What happened to my old Breeze card balance?
If you still had funds on your old Breeze card when we transitioned to the new better Breeze system, don’t worry — your balance is still available!
To transfer your funds from your previous Breeze account to your new better Breeze account, simply:
- Sign in at breezecard.com
- Link your new Breeze card
- Select “Transfer legacy card balance/passes”
- Enter your old card number or account email
- Verify your transfer
Legacy balance transfers will be available through October 30, 2026.

❓Can I still pay for my fare with cash?
If you prefer using cash for your ride, you absolutely still can! Cash is happily accepted on all Xpress buses for a single trip. Just keep in mind that cash payments do not include free transfers.
Please note a very important update to protect your funds: you must bring exact change. Our fareboxes will only accept the exact amount for your trip. If you put in more than the required fare, the machine cannot give you change back, and we can no longer upload that extra money to a Breeze card.
To keep every penny of your hard-earned money secure, we highly encourage you to use the new better Breeze app, visit our website, or enjoy our incredibly convenient tap-and-go open payment system!

A better Breeze system is in full swing! 🚍✨
Old Breeze cards and the old mobile app are now retired, but there’s still time to move your remaining balance. Don’t leave those funds behind—be sure to transfer every last penny by October 30th!
To transfer your old funds, here are the steps you need to take:
1️⃣ Go to breezecard.com and select “Sign in” or “Register.”
2️⃣ After signing in, link your NEW Breeze card. You will receive an email notification confirming the linking of the card to your account.
3️⃣ Select “Transfer legacy card balance/passes.”
4️⃣ Enter your old Breeze card number (silver card) or old Breeze Mobile 2.0 account email.
5️⃣ Verify the transfer.
