Georgia🍑 is making tremendous strides in school safety. The United States Secret Service National Threat Assessment Center team has been working closely with the State of Georgia, providing consultations to government agencies and individual schools on building threat assessment programs and on serious student threat cases. The resulting guidance gives schools a practical roadmap to integrate Georgia's Multi-Tiered System of Supports with existing behavioral threat assessment and management processes trained by Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency.
GaDOE is announcing the release of a first-of-its-kind state resource designed to strengthen school safety by connecting student support systems with behavioral threat assessment and management (BTAM).
The new resource was developed by GaDOE’s Office of Whole Child Supports in partnership with the United States Secret Service – National Threat Assessment Center, the National Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, and with input from the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency.
For families and communities, implementation will mean schools are better equipped to notice concerns early, respond in appropriate ways, and connect students with support before situations become more serious.

💻🔐 Let's talk about Cryptocurrency: What Is It and How Does It Work?
You've probably heard terms like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and digital wallets—but what exactly is cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency is a type of digital currency that exists only online. Unlike traditional money issued by governments, cryptocurrencies operate on a technology called a blockchain—a secure, public ledger that records transactions across a network of computers.
Here's a simple breakdown:
🔹 You store cryptocurrency in a digital wallet.
🔹 When you send or receive cryptocurrency, the transaction is verified by the network.
🔹 Once verified, the transaction is added to the blockchain, creating a permanent record.
🔹 Because the blockchain is decentralized, no single bank or company controls it.
While cryptocurrency can offer new opportunities for payments and investments, it attracts scammers who exploit its complexity and the difficulty of reversing transactions.
🚨 Before investing or sending cryptocurrency:
✅ Research the platform and company.
✅ Be cautious of unsolicited investment opportunities.
✅ Never send cryptocurrency to someone you've never met in person.
✅ Remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
The United States Secret Service works with law enforcement and industry partners to investigate cryptocurrency-related fraud and financial crimes. Staying informed is your first line of defense.
