The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Department of the Interior will jointly present on New World screwworm (NWS) preparedness and response. NWS, also known as Cochliomyia hominivorax, can infest livestock, wildlife, and other warm-blooded animals, including people.
This webinar is specifically targeted for the wildlife and hunting community and will cover:
- recognizing and reporting NWS infestations;
- cases and response within Mexico;
- sterile fly production and dispersal, including new facilities;
- other domestic preparedness activities; and
- interagency coordination.
