Announcing Our 2026 Enhanced Cooling Center! ☀️❄️
For the third consecutive year, Trinity Center will support our neighbors during the hottest days and times of the year by serving as an enhanced Cooling Center.
Starting June 29th, through October 1st, our extended summer hours will be Monday through Thursday from 1 PM 7 PM. Fridays hours will remain 9AM-1PM.
During these extended hours, neighbors will have access to:
❄️ Air-conditioned indoor space
🚿 Daily showers
😴 Daytime rest and sleep opportunities
🍽️ A 4:00 p.m. meal provided by community partners and volunteers
💙 And other essential resources to help them stay safe during Austin's hottest months
In 2025, we recorded 5,916 individual visits and provided 4,107 meals, 883 showers, 1169 summer hygiene kits, 943 items of clothing, and 2,335 bottles of water. For 2026, we are committed to serving even more neighbors in need of respite and relief from the Austin heat.
We hope to build on the success of previous years by inviting community organizations, providers, and volunteers to join us in this effort. Summer is an especially challenging time for our unhoused neighbors, and we want to provide as much access to safety, resources, and care as possible. Our goal is to make this year's Enhanced Cooling Center a hub for support and connection.

We are delighted to share that Trinity Center has been awarded a 2026 Impact Austin grant, recognizing and supporting our ongoing work with Austin's unhoused and low-income community. 👏👏
In these challenging times, nonprofits are being asked to meet growing needs and serve our communities in greater ways, often with limited resources. Impact Austin truly lives up to its name by making a REAL impact through its trust in organizations across a variety of fields and its support of their work through these grants.
Not only is the financial support significant, but grant recipients also become part of their community of partners, building relationships and networks that help strengthen our collective impact and create more opportunities for stability and hope in our community. For that, we are so incredibly grateful!!
The award ceremony was an amazing opportunity for Trinity Center to connect with Impact Austin members and supporters, as well as with other inspiring grant finalists who are making a difference in their own unique ways.
We are honored to now be among the 108 nonprofits that have benefited from 140 Impact Austin grants totaling $9.45 million since 2004! This speaks to the incredible power of collective giving and the meaningful work of the women who make up Impact Austin. 🩷
These funds will directly support the operations behind the many services we provide to our unhoused neighbors to address their basic needs, including our summer Cooling Center initiative, which helps keep people safe and indoors during the hottest months of the year.
Thank you, Impact Austin, for believing in our mission and investing in our community! 💙🩷

As Impact Austin prepared to announce 2026 grant awards, President Claudia Barlow remarked, "Each of these six organizations is doing this work at a time when the people they serve need support more than ever while funding is constrained.
"Tonight, we show that you don’t have to be a millionaire or a well-funded foundation to make a meaningful difference in your community. Through the power of collective giving, we’re showing what happens when a few hundred women with a commitment to supporting our neighbors come together."

We are always so grateful for every opportunity to make Women’s Day on Mondays even more special for our female neighbors. 🩷
H.A.L.O. (Hearts, Active Listening, and Outreach) is a nonprofit organization started by two students from the University of Texas who, after spending many hours volunteering with our unhoused neighbors, realized that while essentials like food and hygiene items are incredibly important, genuine human connection is just as meaningful. They chose Trinity Center as the place to host their women’s discussion groups, creating a supportive and judgment-free environment where women can openly share their thoughts, experiences, and stories.
All student members of H.A.L.O. have done an amazing job making these spaces feel welcoming, safe, and comforting. They bring delicious food to share, along with fun activities like bracelet-making and coloring, helping create connection and community through conversation and creativity.🎨
Thank you, H.A.L.O., for listening to the needs of our community and responding in such a thoughtful and meaningful way. Our neighbors truly look forward to seeing you, catching up, and building those special connections every time you're here ✨🩷

Over the past few months, we’ve been connecting with team members from Austin Police Oversight, learning more about their work in receiving community feedback on interactions with the Austin Police Department and exploring ways we can collaborate to better support the neighbors we serve each day. 👂📝
They recently hosted their first information session at Trinity Center, where they shared an overview of their office, their role in public safety in Austin, and how the complaint process works. It was a great introduction for our neighbors in a safe and welcoming environment, with opportunities to ask questions one-on-one and engage in meaningful conversations. Muffins, snacks, and hygiene items were also provided.
We’re grateful to offer spaces like this where our community can learn about available resources and stay informed. We look forward to continuing to grow this partnership with APO and to having them present in our space more regularly as they listen and respond to community feedback.👏

🤝Today, we’re highlighting an incredible partnership we’ve built this year with Saint Mary Catholic Cathedral🤝
John, a representative from Saint Mary, is now working closely with our ID Assistance program to support neighbors in job searching and career placement. Recently, John met with Chareen, whom we had previously assisted in obtaining vital documents. Together, they worked on her resume, reviewed best practices for job searching and applying, explored useful platforms and tools, and even submitted a few applications!
We are so grateful to be able to support our neighbors one step further after completing the ID process. We know how challenging, time-consuming, and overwhelming job searching can be, especially with limited resources, and we’re happy to now offer this added support.
We’re deeply thankful to John for volunteering his time, knowledge, and encouragement. 💛 While this service is still in its early stages and offered in a limited capacity, John has great ideas to help grow the program and expand its impact, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.
We’re rooting for Chareen and will continue to check in and support her however we can!👏👏

Trinity Center was present at the first-ever K*T Fest on Saturday! The festival brought together local leaders, artists, and community members for meaningful conversations, live music, and opportunities to learn more about what’s happening in Austin and how people across different fields continue to make our city thrive.
It was incredible to see so much interest in Trinity Center and in ways to support our unhoused neighbors. They helped us create hygiene care kits that we are now distributing, including uplifting messages and notes. 🧼🪥🩵 It was a meaningful way for families and kids to engage with us while doing something that makes a difference. ✨We made many great connections and had wonderful conversations! Attendees also found their volunteer match, and we can’t wait to welcome new volunteers and supporters in what’s ahead for Trinity this year.
Thank you to for creating such relevant, engaging, and fun spaces in our city!
