This wetter-than-normal weather has been a big boost for our lawns and gardens! On National W**d Your Garden Day, take advantage of the softer soil to pull weeds while their roots are easier to remove. Afterward, add a layer of mulch to help suppress new weeds and retain moisture.

Did you know that we use Smith System driver training for all District employees who drive for work? The five keys for safe driving include:

1. Aim High in Steering - Look 15 seconds ahead to spot hazards early.
2. Get the Big Picture - Scan the whole scene and check mirrors constantly.
3. Keep Your Eyes Moving - Never stare—shift your gaze every 2 seconds.
4. Leave Yourself an Out - Keep a space cushion so you always have an escape route.
5. Make Sure They See You - Use signals, lights, and horns to communicate.
