What do you hope for Austin's future?

In addition to being a night of reflection and celebration of all we've accomplished as a community, Austin in Common was an opportunity to look ahead and invest in a stronger Central Texas. We partnered with Sunday Afternoon Project to ask attendees what they hope for Austin's future—whether that's the next five years or the next 50.

Recently, ACF hosted a donor briefing in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country to discuss the ongoing relief efforts following the devastating Kerr County floods last July. The conversation featured a fireside chat with Austin Dickson, CEO of the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, and Dr. Julie Kaplow, Executive Vice President for trauma and grief programs and policy at the Meadows Mental Health Policy, moderated by ACF's Chief Impact Officer Meagan Longley.

To date, the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund has received $9.5 million from more than 1,300 donors across Greater Austin, including ACF and our fundholders. We are deeply grateful to everyone whose generosity continues to help families and communities rebuild.

Why does ACF award unrestricted grants?

Local nonprofit, El Buen Samaritano, works hard to meet families where they are and stay responsive to changing needs—whether that's providing immediate relief or building long-term economic mobility. Unrestricted grants from ACF’s Hispanic Impact Fund and Women’s Fund help El Buen stay flexible and recalibrate programs according to evolving data and community priorities.
