It takes a network to nourish Central Texas, and ours is 250 strong!

Our annual Helping Our Partners Excel (H.O.P.E.) Conference brought together our nonprofit community partners from the southern portion of our 21-county service area for a day of learning, collaboration, and connection.

Our partners are essential to our mission, working every day to meet neighbors where they are and connect them to nutritious food and resources that support overall well-being.

We're proud to learn, grow, and innovate together as we continue building healthier futures across Central Texas.

Next month, we'll continue the conversation with our partners in the nine northern counties we serve.

The Austin Chronicle just named us the Best Volunteer Experience for 2026! This makes four years in a row!

While we're honored by the recognition, we know what really makes this place so special: our volunteers.

They are the people who say, "The mission keeps me coming back."

They are the people who know that "to know that somebody whose life is going to be enriched because of what you've done is pretty empowering."

They are the people who show up because "you know your friends will be there."

And they are the neighbors who remind us that "we’re all here together to help each other."

Thank you to every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and heart to helping our community. This recognition belongs to you. 💚

For driver Melissa Johnson, the most meaningful part of her work isn't behind the wheel. It's the neighbors she meets along the way.

Melissa helps deliver food and support our Mobile FARMacy distributions, which address food insecurity as part of healthcare by connecting patients to nutritious food at the places where they already receive care. Her impact goes far beyond transportation. Whether she's helping neighbors carry groceries, holding a baby so a parent can shop with ease, or simply taking time to listen, Melissa brings compassion to every interaction.

"I'm most proud that how I am naturally, being a social butterfly, is bringing joy to everybody that I'm around," Melissa said, "That I'm making a difference to everybody that I encounter."

Recently recognized as Team Member of the Month, Melissa is known for creating a welcoming environment where neighbors feel cared for, respected, and seen.

Thank you, Melissa, for helping make tomorrow possible for our neighbors every day.

Nothing says summer like time spent with friends, fun activities, and a good meal.

Today at Garrison Park, we celebrated the start of our Summer Meals Program with children, families, and community partners who help make this work possible.

When school is out, many families lose access to the meals children rely on during the school year. Austin Parks and Recreation Department is one of approximately 70 community organizations that children can continue to access for nutritious meals all summer long.

We're looking forward to serving more than 240,000 meals this summer and helping make tomorrow possible for children throughout Central Texas.

Fresh food grown with care can make a meaningful difference for families throughout Central Texas, and volunteers like Amber help make that possible every week. 🌱

Amber began volunteering with us in 2024. Our Fresh Harvest Farm quickly became a place of purpose and connection.

“I have always loved planting and gardening,” Amber shared, “but also just getting to do something I already liked in the service of the community. It really just makes it even more joyful and purposeful.”

Amber helps plant, w**d, and harvest fresh produce that goes directly to neighbors. She says seeing fresh food grown right here at the food bank has made her appreciate CTFB even more.

“I know fresh food is really hard to find for a lot of people who are going to food banks,” she said. “The fact that [CTFB] grows the food here means they can really get that fresh food out to everybody.”

Thank you, Amber, for helping fill empty tables with fresh, nutritious food and for growing kindness throughout our community. 💚
