Understanding our history is important as we continue to fight for equality in our country and around the world. On this Juneteenth, join us in taking time to reflect on racial justice and the history of this day with a joint pastoral reflection by Bishop Daniel E. Garcia and Bishop Roy E. Campbell. Last week, our Brazos Valley welcomed clients to a computer literacy workshop in partnership with Save Texas Moms, an organization that supports pregnant and postpartum mothers. These workshops help participants develop essential computer and internet skills needed for education, employment, communication, and everyday life. Thanks to Save Texas Moms and their generous partners, Human-I-T and Digitunity, each of these moms walked away with a laptop of their own!

Catholic Charities’ mission wouldn’t be possible without supporters and advocates like Michael O’Quinn. Michael is a board member at Catholic Charities of Central Texas, and recently opened his home to share CCCTX’s mission with other members of the Bryan-College Station community. This gathering allowed both new and old friends an intentional look into the mission and an opportunity to join Michael in helping change the lives of those in need in the Brazos Valley.

June is — a time to honor the strength, resilience, and traditions that immigrants bring to our communities. We are inspired by the immigrants we serve — parents building a better future for their children, students chasing their dreams, and neighbors helping neighbors. This month, and every month, we celebrate the stories, talents, and courage of immigrants.
