Happy Juneteenth to all our followers!

Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that enslaved people were free. Due to Texas's geographic isolation and the limited presence of Union troops there, slavery persisted in the state for more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth is celebrated to honor the end of slavery in the United States and to recognize African American history, resilience, and culture as a vital part of the national story.

Celebrate with one of these Juneteenth books for adults, young adults, and children!
