Arrest Made in West Valley Avenue Homicide
Investigation
The Birmingham Police Department has arrested 36-year-old Magdaleno Mendoza Jr,
of Pinson, Alabama and charged him with Provocation Manslaughter in connection
with the death of Jorge Fonseca.
The incident occurred on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 260 West Valley Avenue in Birmingham.
Following the shooting, Mendoza was taken into custody without incident and has since
been transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
