Expanding this atrocity against Alabama public schools is part of my opponent for AL HD 45’s platform as noted in her recent interview with The Hoover Sun. She shamelessly helped push this bill through. This is taken right out of the playbook of Moms for Liberty agenda.
In Alabama, an Associated Press analysis found that only 13% of students receiving new state-funded education savings accounts had previously attended public schools. The program’s participants were disproportionately white: about 58% of scholarship recipients were white, while 24% were Black, despite Black students making up a larger share of Alabama’s public school enrollment. Fewer than half of the public school students offered scholarships used them, compared with 94% of students already attending private schools.
The findings are part of a broader AP investigation showing that the nation’s rapidly expanding school choice movement is often benefiting families already paying for private or home schooling rather than helping large numbers of students leave public schools. Nearly half of U.S. students nationwide will soon be eligible for some form of taxpayer-funded private school assistance as states invest billions in vouchers and education savings accounts.

I’m incredibly honored to receive the endorsement of the Central Alabama Labor Council AFL-CIO.
Working people built Alabama, and they deserve leaders who will fight for fair wages, strong public schools, affordable healthcare, safe workplaces, and dignity on the job. I will always stand with workers and families in HD45.
This campaign is about people over politics — and together, we are building something strong. 💙
