Juneteenth honors the day the last enslaved Black Americans were informed of their freedom, more than two years after emancipation had become law.
Today, we reflect on the enduring significance of that moment and recognize the contributions of Black Americans—including those who have helped shape Idaho's communities. Juneteenth is a time to celebrate resilience, honor history, and look toward the future.

Doctors are leaving Idaho because of policies that make our state a harder place to practice medicine. In turn, Idaho children are being left behind.
Medical professionals have made it clear that state policies and the overall health care environment play a major role in where they choose to live and work.
We will continue to advocate for Idaho’s doctors, nurses, and health care professionals—and for policies that help our state attract and retain the providers our families depend on.

Republican leadership has failed Idaho’s rural hospitals. By refusing to fully support Medicaid expansion and repeatedly pushing policies that threaten Medicaid funding, they’ve made it harder for rural hospitals to stay afloat. Idaho Democrats are committed to protecting Medicaid, lowering premiums, and keeping rural hospitals open.
