It was great visiting with Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson and showing him the new Idaho Blue Book! This reimagined visual almanac highlights Idaho’s rich history, culture, and growth. For a little perspective, we dug up the 1935 edition, a great illustration of how far our state has come.

On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the flag of the United States. What began as thirteen stars and thirteen stripes has become one of the most enduring symbols of our nation.

From thirteen stars to fifty, Old Glory has flown through every chapter of America’s story, representing unity, liberty, and hope.

This Flag Day, let us raise the flag proudly and remember the ideals it continues to represent.

Idaho’s cities play an essential role in creating a great quality of life for the people who call our state home.

This week’s Association of Idaho Cities Annual Conference was a meaningful opportunity to connect with local leaders and talk about America 250, a chance to reflect on the founding values that continue to shape strong communities, good governance, and successful places to live today.

I also had the opportunity to share my Dad’s replica of the Declaration of Independence, a powerful reminder of the ideals that helped launch our nation and still guide public service today.

Officially, official! Today the Board of Canvassers certified the results of the 2026 May primary election. The board meets after every election to officially verify that every ballot cast has been accurately counted and reported. Thank you to every county and volunteer across Idaho that helped ensure a successful election.

Counting down to Idaho’s America 250 celebration in less than a month. It was great visiting the Museum of Idaho in Idaho Falls recently to see their special exhibit exploring America’s birth. They have an incredible collection on display centered on how our remarkable nation was formed!

Audits of the 2026 Primary Election continue across Idaho. Election teams are verifying the accuracy of the results through a transparent process designed to help ensure voters can have confidence that every vote counts.

The Idaho State Board of Canvassers will meet on June 9 to certify the election results once the audits are complete.
