Week #2
Our special event for week #2 was a visit to Cooper’s Gem Mine!
The weather couldn’t have been more perfect! Our friends found many beautiful and interesting stones and gems! Thank you to the Cooper family for always making our day one to remember! 🙂 💎

8-12 Year Old Book Club began reading TREASURE HUNTERS by James Patterson for our first week! We used tangram puzzles to make different boats! We also built with LEGOS!
*Our next meeting is June 26 from 11:30am-2:30pm. We will begin reading the Magic Tree House Graphic Novel, DINOSAURS BEFORE DARK!

Preschool age Storytime friends were digging stories about Tractors during week #2!

🦖 For our first week’s special event, we made dinosaur tracks with our hands! Wear your shirt anytime you come to the library for programs and you will receive a glow in the dark bead for your SRP necklace! Didn’t get to come that day? You can make one easily at home with acrylic paint! You can also wear any dino shirt to earn a bead too!
⛳️ Our wonderful partners from TRAVELING BEAR MINI GOLF set up in the large meeting room to provide 9 holes of putting! Thank you to Mike and Mary for bringing their exciting mini golf course to us! Great family fun! ❤️
*Info about necklaces: Each child receives a necklace to collect beads throughout the summer! Earn a bead at each event you attend. Each event has a special color! Forgot your bead on your visit? Just stop by the BPL Children’s Desk to pick one up! 🙂 One friend in our pics already has a good collection by the middle of the second week! Our necklaces are just a cool way to see all the fun you have had by the end of the summer program! 🙂 We also have dog tags for each week!

Week #1
We read stories about dirt and digging! ROY DIGS DIRT and TOPS AND BOTTOMS were a couple of our featured stories! We also colored our own book bags to use all summer!

❤️ We had a wonderful time at the Steele Creek Park Nature Center for June’s meeting of Nature Story Circle! We read about animal homes with Michelle and then Naturalist Jean had so many fun activities for us…making paint resist spider web art, gathering sticks, things, leaves, and moss to help build a beaver lodge, and then making paper bag bird nests! We even made little clay eggs for our nests! 🪺 🦫 🕷️

June 1, 2, and 3! Mud and Baths! We made tigers to go along with little tiger in I DON’T WANT TO TAKE A BATH by Julie Sykes!
