Update 7/18/2023:
Here are a couple of websites where Kia and Hyundai owners can look up their vehicles by VIN to see if they are eligible for a software upgrade (the software upgrade makes it so the alarm stays on for 1 minute instead of 30 seconds and requires a steel key to be in the ignition to start it).
Kia offers a free steering wheel lock to those vehicles that are not eligible for the software upgrade, Hyundai says to check with the local law enforcement.

An important message from BCBA President Mark Allen:
At its most recent meeting, the Brooklyn Center Business Association (BCBA) board voted unanimously to dissolve the organization effective June 30, 2022.
This is hard news to share.
As you may know, the BCBA is not-for-profit and volunteer-driven; it does not have a paid staff. The COVID-19 pandemic hit membership levels significantly and precluded the group from comfortably going forward with our golf tournament fundraiser. Put simply, there are too few new and renewing members (and volunteers leading the charge) to maintain a financially viable, effective organization.
Our June luncheon will be a time to celebrate the BCBA's 17-year history, and we hope you can join us.
We'll have the usual attendee introductions, some announcements, and a meal from our hosts at Embassy Suites. Anyone with an interest in the Brooklyn Center area business community is invited to attend.
When: Thursday, June 23, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Embassy Suites, 6300 Earle Brown Dr, Brooklyn Center
Registration Fee: Members – $20 / Guests – $25 (Covers the cost of the room and meal.)
Register no later than noon, June 22 at https://brooklyncenterbusiness.org/calendar-and-registrations.
