🚨 NYCEM is monitoring a citywide outbreak of pure joy.

A championship-level event is impacting all of New York City.

The KNICKS are NBA CHAMPIONS.

Look out for your neighbors and stay safe. 🧡💙

Every match has a starting lineup. Here’s ours. ⚽🏀🚨

Today we activated the Emergency Operations Center and the Joint Information Center for a packed day across the region: the first NY/NJ World Cup match at MetLife at 6 PM 🏟️⚽, the Knicks in San Antonio for Game 5 at 8:30 PM 🧡💙🏀, and watch parties all over the city 📺🎉.

Inside the EOC and JIC, teams are working hard behind the scenes to keep the city moving. Agencies are tracking operations, transit, crowds, weather, public safety, and citywide impacts in real time 🧭📍🚇🚦. Communicators are monitoring conditions, coordinating with partners, preparing updates, and making sure the public gets clear information when it matters most 📣📝📲.

It takes long hours, sharp focus, and a lot of coordination to support a city of 8.5 million on days like this. We are grateful for the people in the room, on the phones, in the field, and across every agency helping New Yorkers and visitors stay safe and informed 🙌🗽🚨.

Enjoy the match, stay aware of your surroundings, plan extra travel time, and go Knicks. ⚽🏀🧡💙

Any emergency manager can tell you: After every storm, there’s always a rainbow.

Happy Pride from NYCEM!

This summer, we’re welcoming the world on the biggest stage yet, and the city is ready.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani along with Commissioner Christina Farrell convened city agencies and partners in the Situation Room and led a preparedness briefing, kicking off the World Cup and a season of historic events. Months and even years of round-the-clock planning, and having every agency under one roof is the kind of coordination that keeps residents and guests safe and sets the standard for hosting the world.

Now do your part:
🌩️ Severe thunderstorm: get indoors, away from windows
🌡️ Extreme heat: stay in AC, drink water, check on those with you
🌊 Flooding: higher ground, never walk or drive through flood waters

At stadiums and venues, follow staff and first responders. In the boroughs, the NYC Summer Welcome Corps will point you to shade, water, and directions.
