Brooklyn Dreams Charter School will be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas. This important holiday invites us to reflect on our nation’s history, honor the resilience and contributions of Black Americans, and celebrate freedom, progress, and community.
We encourage our scholars and families to take this opportunity to learn more about the significance of Juneteenth and its lasting impact on our country’s history.
Wishing all of our Brooklyn Dreams families a meaningful and reflective Juneteenth. ❤️🖤💚

Last week, Brooklyn Dreams was proud to host our annual Music Showcase, and our scholars truly stole the show. Families and staff had the opportunity to witness the incredible growth, talent, and confidence our students have developed throughout the year.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. McCluskey for his vision, dedication, and tireless efforts in creating such a meaningful experience for our scholars. Thank you as well to Dean Hughes and the entire Dean Team for their partnership and support behind the scenes to ensure the evening’s success.
A special acknowledgment goes to the staff members who stayed after school to help make this event possible: Ms. Moore, Ms. Kuzmina, Ms. Bottjer, Mrs. Ham, Ms. DeLuca, Mr. Wilson, Ms. Alizai, and Ms. Manzoor. Your commitment to our students and families does not go unnoticed.
The Music Showcase was more than a performance—it was a celebration of our scholars’ hard work, creativity, and growth. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this event such a memorable success. 💙🎶
