is a working-class Afro-Latina organizer, UAW member, and the daughter of Dominican immigrants who has spent years fighting for her community in upper Manhattan. Seeing her family navigate immigration issues, economic hardship, and structural racism shaped her commitment to justice. A Columbia alumna, Darializa also organized for Palestinian rights and helped lead the 2023–24 Columbia encampment. Her career is rooted in the belief that working-class communities in upper Manhattan and the West Bronx deserve real investment, dignity, and power.

Today, we gathered together at City Hall Park calling for fully funded universal childcare. Our providers need funding to continue to nurture our children and our communities.

We’ll continue to fight for the funding our providers and children deserve!

UPDATE on the Con Ed action from NYCC’s Climate Director the one and only Pete S.

05/15/2026

BREAKING: A half dozen New Yorkers were just arrested at ConEd’s Manhattan HQ. Mayor Mamdani needs to help save working New Yorkers from this utility monopoly that is raising their bills every month while they pay their CEO Tim Cawley $20 million. Mamdani can do that in one very simple way: subsidize new heat pumps for New York families. If he wants to keep making this city affordable, he’ll do just that in the city budget in June. If he doesn’t, New Yorkers will keep getting squeezed by ConEd until they can no longer afford to live here. We need a Gas Free NYC!

This just goes to show how absurd ConEd is. They’d rather blame consumers for using social media than acknowledge how much they’re gouging our wallets to pay their CEO tens of millions of dollars every year. This is one of many reasons we need a Gas Free NYC!

BREAKING: Today NYCC is proud to announce our endorsement of Michael Blake for NY Congressional District 15.

With all that’s happening on the federal level we know The Bronx NEEDS representation in D.C. that cares about The Bronx and not a foreign country and will call out a genocide when they see it. Representation that sees CD-15 is one of the most poverty stricken congressional districts in the country and wants to do something about it.

We are proud to endorse and support Michael Blake and encourage you all to do the same!!

Hochul before and Hochul now on the state’s climate law.

She’s gutting it now. Tell legislators to VOTE NO!

In 2025 disgraced former Mayor Eric Adams cut a dirty back room deal with Jeff Blau the CEO of Related Co. to give his company $2 BILLION DOLLARS in tax payer money to build out Hudson Yards - but New York City is in a six billion dollar budget crunch (due to deals like this from Eric Adams), where teachers and child care providers are being paid below wages!!

NYC let’s tell and their CEO we need that money to go to the working class people of the city, not to improve their little playground!!
