Family child care is where so many immigrant and refugee families find providers who truly reflect them. It's also one of the most under-resourced corners of early childhood in our city.
Bridging that gap, and making sure the right voices are heard by the right people, is at the core of what we do.
This week, we welcomed Mayor Katie Wilson into Ilhaan Home Daycare, and we're grateful she came to listen.
Deep gratitude to Ilhaan Daycare and to Mayor Katie Wilson for making this moment possible ✨

The doors are open! 🎉
The Center for Learning and Healing is here, built by and for our families. Sixty kids who’ve been waiting years now have a seat. Their parents have a space designed for them too, with care in the languages they speak at home.
This is what it looks like when a community builds what it needs.
The whole community came out to celebrate with us. Families, providers, partners, community leaders, elected officials, the governor.
Everyone who made this possible. Thank you. 💙
