Thank you to everyone who joined Burleson Fire / EMS Department this weekend to celebrate 100 years of service to our community.
The day began with a commemorative ceremony honoring current and former fire personnel and their families. The ceremony featured a 100-year recognition program, a traditional push-in ceremony for the new Engine 1 and Medic 1, a ceremonial hose uncoupling to mark the reopening of the renovated station, a commemorative time capsule that will be opened by future generations and tours of the newly renovated Fire Station 1.
Following the ceremony, an open house celebration welcomed members of the community for station tours, emergency vehicle displays, hands-on activities and the opportunity to meet the fire and EMS personnel who serve Burleson every day.
While both events celebrated 100 years of service, they were ultimately celebrations of the people who have served Burleson throughout the department's history and the community members who have supported that mission for generations.
