What a fun event at Rey’s! The Cary Central Rotarians and our guests came together to “Unite for Good” and “Create Lasting Impact” during our annual Installation Banquet. It was a wonderful time of celebrating the milestones of this past Rotary year and casting a vision for the year ahead.

A heartfelt thank you goes to outgoing President Gordon for his dedicated leadership, and a warm welcome to our incoming President, Sherry! We are excited to see where your vision takes us.

We were especially proud to honor Buck Fisher as our Rotarian of the Year. Buck is truly the backbone of so much of what we do. From coordinating our major fundraiser, the Boyce Brown Memorial Golf Tournament, to planning our favorite social traditions like the Christmas party and this very banquet, his impact is felt by everyone. Beyond his logistical talents, Buck is a vital voice on our board and serves tirelessly as our Service Projects Chair. Thanks Buck!!

And a huge thank‑you to all the Cary Central Rotarians — your service, spirit, and commitment make a real difference in our club, our community, and beyond.

PDG Russell shared his passion for stock car racing by telling fascinating stories and showing official souvenir programs & a scrapbook he created as a youngster entitled: Lotus powered by FORD – A History of Ford Motor Company Total Performance. Russell even tested our knowledge with a quiz …. there are quite a few Cary Central Rotarians who know a lot about NASCAR.

Thanks to all players, volunteers, and sponsors who came out to support the Boyce Brown Charity Golf Outing presented by the Rotary Club of Cary Central at Bentwinds Country Club today.

Together we are able to make a positive impact through college scholarships and projects in our local community and around the world.

Big day tomorrow......the Boyce Brown Charity Golf Tournament presented by the Rotary Club of Cary Central. The weather is going to be specular for golf and fun! May the "fore-th" be with you!!!

President Gordon shared the good news that the Rotary Club of Cary Central received the Governor's Club of Excellence Award at the District Conference. Yay for Cary Central Rotarians!!

Parkinson's + Alzheimer's + ALS = Huntington Disease

HD is an autosomal, genetic, neurodegenerative disease that affects cognition, movement, and behavior.

Betsey McFarland, Executive Director, shared how HD Reach is working to improve the care and quality of life for those affected by Huntington’s disease. Founded as a nonprofit in 2009, HR Reach provides connections to medical providers, referrals to local services, care management, family support, education, and anonymous genetic testing.

President Gordon was delighted to present Betsey with a significant check to HD Reach on behalf of the Rotary Club of Cary Central!

Our own Donna Peffley shared fascinating stories and pictures from her amazing adventure to Pakistan with a team of 7 other Rotarians from the USA in January 2019 to give polio vaccines to the precious children.
We also learned how Rotarians embarked on a BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) to eradicate polio ..... and how close we are to reaching that goal today.
