Earlier this year, Historic Rosedale was honored and excited to be chosen as this year's recipient of the Costume Society of America's Angels Project. This is an annual, one-day initiative carried out by the Society in conjunction with their national symposium (held this year in Charlotte), and involves Society members gathering to provide conservation, storage, and curatorial assistance to small museums' costume and/or textile collections. Rosedale staff and volunteers joined almost 30 Society members in sorting, cleaning, and cataloging our collection of textiles, as well as reorganizing our collections room for more efficient artifact storage. We are extremely grateful to the Society for sharing their time and talents with us, and getting us started on the path to preserving our collection!
