Happy Juneteenth, Girl Scouts! Today, we honor freedom, resilience, progress, and hope.
Juneteenth is a meaningful reminder of the importance of learning from history, celebrating Black joy and culture, and continuing the work of building a more just and inclusive future. As Girl Scouts, we believe every girl has the power to lead with courage, compassion, and purpose.
We invite our Girl Scout community to reflect, celebrate, and learn today. How are you commemorating Juneteenth? Share your stories and traditions in the comments. ๐ซ

What a way to tip off a new era for women's sports in Charlotte! ๐๐
Before the Charlotte Crown's inaugural home game, Girl Scouts Hornets' Nest Council welcomed community leaders for a special Women in Sports Mixer celebrating the growth of women's athletics and the opportunities it creates for future generations.
We were honored to be joined by retired WNBA All-Star and Charlotte Sting legend Andrea Stinson, whose impact on the game was on full display when a longtime fan brought a 30+ year old Sting jersey for her to sign.
Throughout the evening, one message rang loud and clear: everyone watches women's sports.
More importantly, we discussed why Girl Scouts deserve a seat at every table where women and girls are being celebrated, supported, and invested in. When girls see women leading, competing, and breaking barriers, they begin to see what's possible for themselves.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this exciting new chapter for women's sports in Charlotte and the bright future ahead for girls across our community.

The Bronze Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve, and these incredible Girl Scouts have earned it through hard work, leadership, and a commitment to making their communities better.
Each project began with a question: "How can I make a difference?"
Through research, planning, teamwork, and action, these girls identified real community needs and created lasting solutions that will continue to have an impact long after their projects were completed.
Please join us in celebrating our Bronze Award recipients and the courage, creativity, and determination they demonstrated every step of the way.
To our Bronze Award recipients, your leadership is inspiring, and we cannot wait to see how you continue to change the world!

Congratulations to Troop 2513 for taking meaningful action to fight food insecurity in their community! ๐๐ฅซ
Driven by a desire to make a difference, the girls chose to focus their project on raising awareness about hunger and food insecurity. They began by conducting extensive research to better understand the challenges many families face and how they could help create positive change.
The troop then developed a comprehensive community outreach campaign, creating posters, flyers, and an educational video to inform their peers and neighbors about food insecurity and its impact on local families. Through their efforts, they helped spark important conversations and encouraged others to get involved.
Taking ownership of every aspect of the project, the girls secured multiple food drive locations throughout the community, including their elementary school, J.V. Washam Elementary, local churches, gyms, and a grocery store. They also leveraged social media, coordinated porch pickups, and spent months collecting donations.
Their hard work resulted in more than five carloads of food donations, which were distributed between two local organizations, Bags of Hope, and Angels & Sparrows, helping provide meals and support to families facing food insecurity.
Through education, advocacy, leadership, and service, Troop 2513 demonstrated the power of young people to create meaningful change. Their dedication not only helped stock pantry shelves but also raised awareness of an important issue affecting their community every day. ๐๐๐๐๐ฅซ
