Sending a big THANK YOU to our friends at Tryon Medical Partners 💙, who hosted their first food / fund drive 🥫❤️ for recently. They collected 594 pounds as well as $1,070 - which equates to 7,490 pounds of nutritious food that will help feed our neighbors in need!

It's that time again - the WSOC-TV 9 Food Drive 💙💛! Together with our friends from the station, we are working to collect food and funds for our neighbors dealing with food insecurity.

You can help by donating funds online at 9FoodDrive.com OR by visiting us June 24th from 12PM-7PM at the Walmart-Arboretum to drop off non-perishable food items 🥫. Special guests will be some of our friends from the station - so come on out and say HI👋!

Did you know that out of the 30 million Americans living with diabetes, 7 million do not know they have it - nearly 1 in 4. Additionally, 9 out of 10 people with pre diabetes are unaware they are at risk. If you are at risk of type 2 diabetes, small, measurable lifestyle changes can significantly reduce your risk and improve your overall health. That's why we have partnered with our friends at YMCA of Greater Charlotte to share valuable information about their Diabetes Prevention Program and provide YOU with the tools and support needed to make lasting change.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Led by a trained Lifestyle Coach, participants meet for 26 sessions delivered over the course of one year. The mail goals of the program are to:

- Reduce body weight by 7%
- Increase physical activity to 150 minutes per week

This program empowers participants to make healthier food choices and increase physical activity to help reduce their risk for type 2 diabetes.

DO YOU QUALITY TO PARTICIPATE? Individuals must be:

- 18 years or older
- BMI >25
- Diagnosed with pre diabetes via one of three blood tests or a previous diagnosis of gestational diabetes

Last month, our friends from ALDI 💙 helped us with a disaster relief packing. They had 65 staff members 👍 support the event with a total of 130 hours, who packed 1,350 kits that were donated to our Rowan branch! Thanks so much, Aldi for your help!
