Today, we are incredibly excited to endorse Mel Alvarez-Zabriskie for TNDP Executive Committeewoman District 17.

As a first-generation Cuban-American in Tennessee, Melissa has dedicated her life to serving communities through compassion, advocacy, and action. From her work as a community-based mental health therapist to advancing equity and access for Latino / Latine families in the nonprofit sector, her leadership has always been rooted in care.

Recognizing the gaps in support and representation facing Latino communities, Melissa went on to found the Tennessee Hispanic Action Network, the only gun violence prevention organization in Tennessee focused on the disproportionate impact gun violence has on the Latino community.

Our country has been under attack for quite some time. We are fighting back.

Fuerza was excited to host our first event in Knoxville on May 1st, introducing our work and movement across the state. We were also able to facetime with our Endorsed Candidate, Ayleem Connolly for MSCS School Board District 8!

As the first and only statewide PAC supporting Latino/Latine Democratic candidates in Tennessee, gatherings like these are essential to growing our base of support and politically empowering communities across the state.
