This Juneteenth, we remember the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas learned of their emancipation.
I was honored to join Tuesday’s Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony at Daley Plaza to reflect on our history and the work still ahead of us.

Excited to welcome Dos Toros Taqueria back to 1 N. Dearborn! 🌯 Their Mission-style burritos make this a great lunch option in the Loop.
I was proud to support Chicago’s acquisition of the Greyhound station for the half a million people who rely on affordable bus transportation.
We have a lot of work to do to improve the public safety and operations of the station for neighbors and riders alike.
Due to the Juneteenth holiday, all garbage and recycling pickup typically scheduled for Friday will happen today (6/18).
Please make sure your garbage cans are accessible for our local Chicago Department of Streets & Sanitation team.

After changing the law to cut red tape for a budding business, I was proud to join Bud and Rita's to cut the ribbon at their newest location at 105 W. Madison, which opens on June 20.
