Green spaces in the 26th Ward are vital to the aliveness of our neighborhoods, and Park 514 is no exception.

Located in the middle of our beautiful Humboldt Park community area, it is a space that is utilized by children, elders, and families, and any space that builds community deserves a proper name.

I want to thank Sister Mary, Maggie, and the beloved advocates for relentlessly recommending the renaming of Park 514.

This has been years in the making. Sister Patty was remarkable, and honoring our remarkable people is how we maintain their legacies. Thank you to Supt. Ramirez-Rosa and the Chicago Park District Board of Commissioners for your support.

In the coming months, we will be organizing a celebration with the new park signs and a beautification plan where you can weigh in.

Los espacios verdes del Distrito 26 son fundamentales para la vitalidad de nuestros vecindarios, y el Parque 514 no es la excepción.

Ubicado en el corazón de nuestra hermosa comunidad de Humboldt Park, es un espacio que utilizan los niños, las personas mayores y las familias, y cualquier espacio que fortalezca a la comunidad merece un nombre propio.

Quiero agradecer a la hermana Mary, a Maggie y a los queridos defensores por recomendar sin descanso que se cambiara el nombre del Parque 514. Esto ha sido fruto de años de trabajo.

La hermana Patty fue extraordinaria, y honrar a nuestras personas extraordinarias es la forma en que mantenemos su legado. Gracias a la superintendente Ramírez-Rosa y a la Junta de Comisionados del Distrito de Parques de Chicago por su apoyo.
