What does it take to end hunger? It starts with learning. This week, Whitney Young freshman Aadin Mujtaba met with our CEO, Mitzi D. Baum, to learn more about food insecurity in Chicago and the work Nourishing Hope is doing to support neighbors across the city. In Chicago, one in 5 people experiences food insecurity. By helping students understand the realities behind that statistic, we can inspire the next generation to build a more equitable and compassionate future. Thank you Aadin, for your curiosity, your thoughtful questions and your commitment to making a difference. 💙. Mitzi D. Baum

At Nourishing Hope, Pride means creating a community where everyone feels seen, valued, respected, and welcome.

This month, our team is sharing what Pride means to them and celebrating the power of inclusion, belonging, and the freedom to be yourself.

Because hope grows when everyone has a place at the table. 🏳️‍🌈

120,000 meals. That’s the power of partnership. 💙We’re incredibly grateful to the blackhawks(official) USG Corporation Christopher Griffin and Christopher Macey for this generous investment in our mission. Every meal represents a neighbor, a family, a senior or a child who will have access to nutritious food because of the generosity of this community. Together we are ensuring that more Chicagoans have food for today and hope for tomorrow

Happy Pride Month! This June Nourishing Hope is spotlighting one of our Online Market Partners, The Center on Cottage Grove!

The Center is a South Side hub for LGBTQ organizations that serve primarily Black and Brown communities. It provides a place to collaborate on community initiatives, programs, and events in addition to our Online Market services.

Since our collaboration began in 2024, together we’ve helped to provide groceries to over 1,100 people! Partnerships like these help us provide food and dignity to neighbors all around Chicago, no matter who they are💚

Thank you to our generous donors who continue to help make a difference in the lives of Chicagoans in need.

At Nourishing Hope, we provide more than a box of groceries. Our Mental Wellness and Social Services teams offer counseling, case management and personalized support to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges with dignity and care. No questions asked.

These thoughtful donations from Northwestern Medicine and The Hulsebosch Hope Foundation will help us continue to expand access to critical mental health services for Chicagoans facing mental health challenges.
