[Reposting in Korean ] 🚨 트럼프 행정부가 미국 내에서 영주권을 신청하는 이민자들에게 새로운 장벽을 만들고 있습니다.

최근 발표된 미국 이민국(USCIS) 지침으로 인해 영주권 신청 과정이 더 복잡해지고, 대기 기간과 비용이 늘어나며, 가족들이 오랫동안 떨어져 지내야 할 가능성도 커질 수 있습니다.

이 문제는 우리 아시아계 이민자 공동체와도 깊이 연결되어 있습니다. 많은 아시아계 이민자들은 가족초청, 취업비자, 유학생 비자, 결혼이민 등의 경로를 통해 미국에서 삶의 터전을 마련하고 사랑하는 가족들과 재회해 왔습니다.

DACA와 TPS를 축소하려는 시도부터 영주권 신청 절차를 더욱 까다롭게 만드는 정책까지, 이민자들이 안정적인 삶을 만들어 가는 길은 점점 더 어려워지고 있습니다.

[한국어 ⬇️] People's Academy is back on June 20 with 'Building Bridges Between Communities and Culture'!

In this bilingual Korean and English community gathering, we'll explore the connections between Black resistance art and Korean Minjung (People’s) art.

Through art, conversation, and a collaborative mural activity, we’ll reflect on shared histories of survival, resistance, and community care while imagining what solidarity can look like in everyday life.

Korean drumming has long been used as a symbol of resistance and liberation, representing courage, solidarity, and a renewed sense of community togetherness.

Join us for "It’s on Us: A Day of Art and Action" to experience the power of drumming as a form of protest and solidarity with HANA’s drumming group, IlGwaNoRi (IGNR).

IGNR will start the day with a pungmul (traditional Korean drumming) performance at Horner Park before hosting a drumming workshop for the public. We’ll finish the event with a picnic with light food and refreshments.
