Happy Flag Day
Flag Day celebrates the official adoption of the United States flag, which occurred on June 14, 1777. On this date, the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution stating that the new nation's flag would feature 13 alternating red and white stripes and 13 white stars on a blue field, representing a "new constellation".
Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th to commemorate the official adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the national flag of the United States. It serves as a patriotic observance to honor the flag's history, symbolism, and the ideals of freedom it represents.

The Central Stickney Fire Protection District would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has reached out with messages, prayers, kind words, and support following the passing of our brother, Joseph B. Wood II.
The overwhelming outpouring of love and support shown to Brads family, friends, and our department has been truly appreciated during this difficult time. We are also deeply grateful to everyone who attended or assisted with the funeral services and helped honor Brad’s life and service.
Special thanks to the Bedford Park Fire Department and the Summit Fire Department for covering our firehouse while we attended the service.
Brads dedication, friendship, and commitment to serving others will never be forgotten. Your support has provided comfort and strength to all who knew and loved him.
On behalf of the Wood family and the members of the Central Stickney Fire Protection District, thank you for standing with us and helping us celebrate the life of a remarkable friend, and brother.
Rest easy, Brad We have the watch from here.
If any residents are still having issues with your electricity after the storm yesterday, we recommend calling ComEd at 800-334-7661.
You should call them until resolved.

It is with great sadness that I share the news that last night one of our own, Joseph B Wood II, "Brad" suffered a medical emergency at his home and did not survive.
Brad faithfully served the Central Stickney Fire Protection District for the past 18 years. Throughout his years of service, he dedicated himself to our department, our mission, and the community we serve. His contributions, commitment, and friendship will not be forgotten.
This is a difficult loss for our department and for all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. Brad will be greatly missed by his fellow firefighters, friends, and family.
As more information becomes available regarding arrangements and any department plans to honor Brad’s service and memory, I will share those details with everyone.
Please keep Brad’s family and loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.
