Cook County Government has announced a significant investment in community safety and violence prevention, making $15 million in grant funding available to eligible nonprofit organizations providing Community Violence Intervention (CVI) services throughout Cook County.

This funding opportunity is designed to support organizations that work directly with individuals, families, and communities impacted by violence by offering prevention, intervention, outreach, victim support, conflict mediation, and other evidence-based services that help create safer neighborhoods.

Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to attend a virtual information session on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. CT, where participants can learn more about eligibility requirements, the application process, and funding priorities. The session will be recorded and made available online for those unable to attend live.

The grant application period opens July 1, 2026, and closes August 3, 2026. Eligible organizations are encouraged to begin preparing now to take advantage of this funding opportunity.

Housing Opportunity in Cook County

The Cook County Down Payment Assistance Program will reopen on July 20, 2026, providing eligible homebuyers with an opportunity to receive assistance toward purchasing a home.

Through the program, qualified applicants may receive up to 5% in down payment and closing cost assistance when paired with an affordable mortgage. Applications will be processed through Club 720.
