Family Focus Lawndale

On May 27, 2026, the Strong Fathers, Strong Families program proudly celebrated the graduation of six fathers who successfully completed the eight-week Manhood Tree Curriculum. To continue recognizing their commitment and achievements, the fathers were invited on June 3, 2026, to attend a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. For several of the fathers, this was their first opportunity to visit the historic stadium. The outing provided a meaningful experience for the participants to celebrate their accomplishments, strengthen relationships with one another, and create positive memories with their peers. The event also reinforced the importance of community engagement, fellowship, and continued personal growth as fathers and role models within their families.

On May 14th, Oscar DePriest Elementary School hosted its Donuts with Dad event, featuring Family Focus Lawndale’s Strong Father Strong Families Program as a special guest. Fathers and their children enjoyed a wonderful morning filled with coffee, doughnuts, and meaningful moments together. Take a look at these great photos capturing the joy of the event!

This past week, we had the pleasure of hosting a “Muffins with Mom” event at our partner school, DePriest Elementary School. It was a wonderful morning filled with smiles, connection, and quality time between students and their moms and mother figures. Family Focus Lawndale is growing, learning, and showing up with intention 💙 This month's Parent Mentor Program professional development focused on deepening our understanding of autism, strengthening our support for families, and creating more inclusive spaces where every child can thrive.

On April 15, 2026, the Strong Father Strong Families Fatherhood program hosted a Fatherhood Outing at White Sox Rate Field, bringing together its Father’s Support Groups from Englewood and Belmont Cragin, along with invited participants from the Enlace Close Group in Little Village and the Lawndale Support Group. For many families, this was their first visit to the stadium. With beautiful weather and a lively atmosphere, everyone enjoyed a memorable and fun-filled experience!
