8th District Chicago Police Department

BT 861A responded to a call of shots fired at 65/Kedzie. BT830 observed vehicle matching description, vehicle fled. Subjects fled on foot, tossed object in garage. Subjects were detained, below weapon recovered. No valid FOID or CCL, driver & passenger placed into custody.

On 14June26, Bt 861E responded to a person with a gun at 56th & Claremont. A shirtless subject was kicked out of a party and left his bag containing a firearm. Witness pointed out the bag, a 9mm firearm was recovered and the subject, with no FOID or CCL, was arrested. Nice job!

Last weekend, the 8th Dist. Tact Team patrolled Bt. 823 & observed 2 males donning ski masks while driving. After initiating a traffic stop, officers were alerted to the pictured firearm on the floorboard. The driver was arrested & felony charges were approved.

On 18 May 26, Bt. 863A was conducting bag searches on Park District property when a subject attempting to circumvent a search was spotted. Officers stopped the subject and a search revealed one handgun without valid FOID or CCL. The offender was taken into custody. Nice work!

On May 3rd 2026, officers of the 864 Tact Team were patrolling Beat 824 when they observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign. A traffic stop was conducted and a loaded 9mm handgun was observed in plain view. The driver, a convicted felon with no FOID or CCL, was placed in custody.
