Episode Four of our Illinois 250 series is now available!

As part of our celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, IDFPR continues its five-part video series highlighting the stories that connect Illinois’ past and present.

This episode shines a light on a pivotal moment in Illinois history: the establishment of a state-chartered bank featuring an all-women team. Through the voices of Maria Tabrizi, Executive Vice President of First Women’s Bank, and Susana Soriano, Director of Banking at IDFPR, this episode reveals what it means to break barriers with professionalism, rigor, and leadership. Secretary Treto joined students participating in the Future Presidents of America Youth Leadership Camp at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum yesterday in Springfield. As part of the program, Secretary Treto shared his leadership journey and encouraged students to embrace opportunities to serve, lead with purpose, and make a meaningful difference in their communities.

The Future Presidents of America program empowers young people to develop confidence, civic awareness, and leadership skills while exploring what it means to be an engaged citizen. Secretary Treto was honored to connect with such a bright and motivated group of future leaders, reminding them that leadership begins with a willingness to learn, serve others, and step forward when opportunities arise.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum for the invitation and investing in the next generation of leaders. Programs like these inspire young people to dream big, lead with integrity, and help shape a stronger future for Illinois and beyond.
