A mural dedicated to the memory of three Chicago Police Officers, Luis Huesca,
Andres Vasquez Lasso, and Enrique Martinez, was recently defaced with graffiti.

Instead of focusing on the cowardly act of an unknown individual, the will highlight the reasons why our city honors the memories of these individuals.

Luis Huesca, a 30-year-old veteran of six years with CPD, embodied the values of bravery, loyalty, and integrity. He was a son, brother, and proud uncle.

Andres Vasquez Lasso, a 32-year-old four-year member of CPD, loved Chicago and took pride in serving and protecting the city's residents.
A Colombian immigrant, he came to the United States at 18 and always aspired to become a police officer.

Enrique Martinez, a 26-year-old officer with two years of service, followed in his brother's footsteps and became a Chicago Police Officer. He was a son, brother, and was about to marry his fiancée before his line of duty death. His generous spirit will forever be remembered by family and friends, as well as his legacy of service and sacrifice.

May God bless the souls of these three warriors, and may their families be reassured of the love and support our city has for each of them.
