Through fairness, ethics and transparency, the Assessor's Office is responsible for setting values for 1.8 million parcels of Cook County property.

Our public service responsibilities, however, are not limited to setting property values. In addition to working with other government agencies to stimulate economic development, job creation and the construction of affordable housing, we also seek to help county residents better understand the assessment process and take advantage of money-saving exemptions the office provides.

Last week we held our second annual Housing Access and Inclusion Fair. Attendees were able to receive information on property tax savings, and also meet with various community partners who shared vital services and information to assist in their homeownership journey. Information and services for homeowners should be accessible to all. We are committed to supporting homeowners and providing clear, inclusive, and accessible information.

Thank you to the 's Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) and Chicago Department of Housing (DOH) for being such wonderful partners.

Our office presented yet another inspiring conversation for our Racial Equity and Real Estate series. This event was our first AAPI focused discussion in the beautiful Bridgeport community. The intimate dialogue explored history, affordable housing, and advocacy shaping the AAPI community. Thank you to our stellar panelists who presented a wealth of knowledge: Alderwoman Nicole Lee, Tommy Choi, Kaskyap Trivedi, and Grace Chan McKibben. Our panel ended with a little historical fun as Cleo Aquino shared the culture of the renowned game of Mahjong. A heartfelt thank you to our gracious host, Bridgeport Queen Miss Maria, and her son Ed for welcoming us to the historic Maria's Packaged Goods & Community Bar. Your hospitality helped make this evening of connection and learning a memorable experience for all.

Market Investor Day 2026 delivered on every level. A day filled with insights on data centers growth, the nuances of property assessments and valuations, and its impact on our communities. A fireside chat with esteemed community leaders offered reflections on forward progression. We explored key community concerns through engaging discussions, and our data team hosted a live demonstration that put theory into practice. Many thanks to all our guests for adding depth to the conversation and to the Outreach and Civic Engagement team for making the day a success.
