The brazen actions that many of us continue to see in our county courthouses are simply unacceptable. People should be able to enter a courthouse without fear. We demand accountability for those who continue to defy our laws, undermine due process, and erode public trust in our courts.

June is Immigrant Heritage Month. It’s a time to celebrate the diversity, cultures, and contributions of immigrants who have helped shape the United States.

Junio es el Mes de la Herencia Inmigrante, un momento para celebrar la diversidad, las culturas y las contribuciones de los inmigrantes que han ayudado a dar forma a los Estados Unidos.

Beatrice “Bea” Lumpkin was a lifelong champion for justice and liberation. At 107 years old, she continued to advocate for the rights of all – especially workers, women, and people of color. As an activist, educator, and labor leader, she reminded us that collectively, we carry more power together than alone.

I had the honor of presenting Bea with a resolution before the County Board in 2024, honoring her contributions to uplift workers and the labor movement. May you rest in power, Bea!

A sus 107 años, seguía abogando por los derechos de todos, especialmente de los trabajadores, las mujeres y las personas de color.
