Clovis Veterans Memorial District

May was filled with so many meaningful moments and an incredible sense of community at the District. We kicked off the month with Carry The Load, celebrated our future service members during Military Signing Days, gathered for our Salute to Patriots Dinner, and saw the community come together for the Clovis Memorial Run. Then last week, we closed the month by commemorating Memorial Day and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

It was inspiring to see so many people unite in support of service, sacrifice, and one another. Thank you for helping make this month so memorable. 🇺🇸❤️💙

This week, we welcomed 3rd and 5th-grade students from Weldon Elementary to the Community Heritage Center for the final field trip of the school year!

Students explored the history of Clovis through a walking tour of Old Town, visited the Community Heritage Center, and experienced the Clovis Big Dry Creek Museum. Opportunities like these help bring history to life by allowing students to engage with exhibits, explore artifacts up close, and connect classroom learning to the stories that shaped our community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the District for Memorial Day. We heard live music from John Pemberton and the Clovis Community Band, had a Gold Star Remembrance Ceremony, broke bread together with a community luncheon from the Old Town Clovis Kiwanis Club, and had a day of remembrance and valuable time together.

As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, this day reminds us that the freedoms we enjoy were secured by those who laid down their lives in service to our country. We remember their sacrifice, their courage, and the legacy they leave behind. We are so grateful to be part of a community that unites each year to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.🇺🇸
