Are you out volunteering? Make sure you report your hours! It’s not a matter of getting credit, it helps department see what all we are doing, but also helps quantify the work put into the community.

Our post also has the chance to place in the state based on our involvement and what is reported.

Yesterday, we had the opportunity to help a local Girl Scout troop on Fort Carson with learning about the history of the American Flag. The Scouts also participated in a traditional flag retirement, were shown the alternate method of retiring flags (for synthetic flags), and each folded a smaller flag in the traditional 13-fold triangle as a pocket flag for them to take home.

While these type of ceremonies are traditionally associated with Scouts of America (formerly Boy Scouts), learning about our flag is something important for all youth to understand.

We are less than a week away from Father’s Day!

Last year, we asked whether you joined the VFW Auxiliary under your dad. This year, we'd like to know if your father is an Auxiliary member and/or if an important dad in your life (husband, son, brother, friend, etc.) is in the VFW Auxiliary - we would love to celebrate him with you!

Email ([email protected]) or DM us a photo and/or leave a note in the comments shouting out your favorite Auxiliary father figure no later than Friday, June 19 at 3pm central time! We would love to share on Sunday!
