Today and every day, we have an opportunity to raise awareness of elder abuse and stand up for the safety, dignity, and respect our older adults deserve. Elder abuse often goes unseen, but its impact is deeply felt. By speaking up, sharing resources, and staying connected with the older adults in our lives, we can help prevent mistreatment and ensure no one feels alone or unheard.
Awareness leads to actionโand action leads to change. Letโs continue to be a voice for those who may not always be able to speak for themselves. ๐

๐ Raising Awareness. Protecting Older Adults. ๐
The Trumbull County Commissioners recently joined Adult Protective Services (APS) staff and supervisors in recognizing World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and the importance of protecting our older adults.
The Commissioners issued a proclamation designating June as Elder Abuse Awareness Month in Trumbull County, reaffirming our communityโs commitment to preventing elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
Throughout the month, APS staff have displayed purple ribbons and awareness signs across the county to help educate the public and encourage everyone to recognize the signs of elder abuse.
Together, we can make a difference by supporting, respecting, and protecting older adults in our community. If you suspect an older adult is being abused, neglected, or exploited, please speak up. Awareness is the first step toward prevention.
