Had the privilege of being at Miami University today to speak to the American Legion Buckeye Boys State participants. It’s always great to connect with our next generation of leaders!

This week, the Ohio Senate passed S.B. 398, legislation that I introduced that creates the Adopt a Trail Program under the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

S.B. 398 will allow volunteer groups to assist in maintaining and enhancing trails on state-owned land while being recognized for their efforts.

Had the privilege of providing sponsor testimony on Senate Bill 338 which would establish the Office of Digital Safety for Children.

Young people are online more than ever before. With a growing number of kids spending an increasing amount of time on the internet, safety concerns become apparent. By establishing the Office of Digital Safety for Children we can prepare for the many threats that children are faced with while online.

I had the privilege of speaking today at the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Day here in Columbus about my role on the Joint Data Center Committee. I was able to share what we’ve been hearing from stakeholders, interested parties, and citizens from across the state. It’s always a great opportunity to spend time with leaders from the region!

With summer break upon us, it is important that we, as a legislature, pass common-sense gun safety legislation. Over the past few weeks, we have seen a number of gun-related incidents across our state, underscoring the urgency of this issue.

We can no longer afford to sweep this problem under the rug. Our communities deserve action, and they deserve it now. It is time for the legislature to come together and take meaningful steps to improve public safety.

Had the privilege of providing sponsor testimony with Sen. Wilson on our Adopt-a-Trail legislation. This legislation is similar to the Adopt-a-Highway program, allowing organizations to help keep trails free of litter while also promoting trail stewardship and beautification.

By establishing the Adopt-a-Trail program, we can engage more people in protecting Ohio’s incredible natural resources while supporting the great work being done by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources!
