Stark County is taking an important step in su***de prevention. 💚

Stark County Mental Health & Addiction Recovery, Stark County Su***de Prevention Coalition, and the City of Massillon - City Hall have partnered to install 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline signs throughout the community — helping connect residents to hope and support when they need it most.

Massillon is the first community in Stark County to launch this initiative, which aims to:
📱 Increase awareness of the 988 Lifeline
🫶 Encourage help-seeking behavior
🗨️ Connect people to immediate mental health and substance use crisis support

The 988 Lifeline provides free, confidential support 24/7 by call, text, or chat. Community partnerships like this help save lives and remind people they are never alone.

Feeling thankful for our dedicated team at DBH! Central office staff united at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum, not only to celebrate our victories, both personal and organizational, but also to lay down future plans for Ohio's behavioral healthcare system. The Ohio Association of County Behavioral Health Authorities hosted the 16th annual Mental Health and Addicition Conference: Inspiring a Stronger Tomorrow. DBH Director Tia Marcel Moretti joined to give opening remarks and lead a session on the department's new initiatives. The two-day conference highlights innovative strategies and best practices in prevention, education, intervention, treatment, recovery, family support, and community engagement.

June is PTSD Awareness Month. About 12 million people in the U.S. are living with PTSD, yet many never receive treatment. The good news: PTSD treatment works. Whether trauma comes from military service, assault, accidents, disasters, or other experiences, effective support can help reduce symptoms and improve quality of life.
