Our office is closed today, Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth. We will reopen on Monday, June 22, at 8:00 A.M.

Juneteenth history: On June 19, 1865, General Granger, a Civil War Army officer, led his troops to Galveston, Texas, where they announced the end of slavery in the state. As a result, 250,000 enslaved people in Texas learned of their freedom. This was almost two years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth was designated as a federal holiday and a Columbus city holiday in 2021. Learn more: https://www.juneteenth.com/

Last Thursday, Emma, our Statewide CarFit Coordinator, hosted a very successful Carfit event at the Friendship Village of Dublin. This marks our largest CarFit event in Franklin County so far this year! We helped 18 older adults with CarFit checks, ensuring their vehicles are comfortable and safe. Each participant received guidance from an occupational therapist. A special thank you to the wonderful team at Friendship Village and Doreen Luke, 2026 Ms. Senior World 70s, for your support!
