OIU Agents worked a joint violent crime reduction initiative with Cleveland Division of Police. OIU confiscated 5 fi****ms and made 6 felony arrests: two of the fi****ms were fully automatic and equipped with machine gun conversion devices.

Another replica firearm was also confiscated off two juveniles, ages 15 and 17, who were wanted for a recent aggravated robbery incident in the City of Cleveland. Offenders in possession of the fi****ms were found to be violent convicted felons, gang affiliated, underage juveniles with violent criminal histories.

In one case, multiple youthful/juvenile individuals were congregated and consuming liquor while armed. Agents coordinated a stop of the offenders and during the stop a 19-year-old with a violent criminal history fled from agents, brandished, then discarded an automatic firearm. The offender was apprehended and booked into jail.

Another automatic firearm was found in their vehicle and one of the 17-year-old juveniles (who also has a violent juvenile criminal history) was observed posting on social media with that specific gun.

OIU and Cleveland Division of Police have been longtime partners in combatting violent crime in and around the City of Cleveland and multiple other initiatives are planned for this summer.
