A new apartment complex has opened in Franklinton. Westrich, developed by CASTO, The Robert Weiler Company, Kelley Companies, and Cain Development, LLC brings 235 units to a neighborhood that continues to grow. I had a blast visiting kids at the Marion Franklin Community Center on Wednesday. They’re taking part in one of the incredible summer camps put on by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
At the Great Art Getaway camp, kids and teens get to express themselves through all kinds of art while making new friends. This week’s theme is Enchanted Forest, and it was great to see what these creative minds came up with!

It was an honor to attend the Juneteenth illumination Monday and reflect on what it means to our city and nation. We celebrate the extraordinary contributions of African Americans whose perseverance, leadership, and courage have shaped us. Their stories are woven into our neighborhoods, businesses, and culture.

Today, we celebrated the opening of Firehouse 36, a new station on the city’s northeast side. The facility strengthens the Columbus Division of Fire’s capabilities, keeps pace with the area’s growing population, and ensures residents receive the rapid, professional emergency response they deserve. A new chapter begins on the southwest side of our city. Last week, I announced our fourth community plan, led by the Department of Neighborhoods Columbus, working with residents over the next ten to twelve months on health, safety, transportation, educational equity, economic development, and job creation. The Columbus story is not finished until every neighborhood is part of it. Columbus Public Health
