Prevent Blindness Ohio distributed eye health and safety information to dozens of individuals this past Sunday at the Springfield Museum of Art Kids Fest hosted by the Springfield Arts Council. Our thanks to Genentech for sponsoring our participation at this great event!

Career Tech The Superspecs program works with Ohio schools to prevent eye injuries by donating safety glasses free of charge for career technical programs.

Department of Biology graduate student Kendall Farley is a recipient of the 2026 Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness Ohio Young Investigator Student Fellowship Award for Female Scholars in Vision Research. Kendall is a graduate student in Dr. Jordan Renna’s neuroscience research lab, and Kendall will be using connectomics to investigate the neural circuitry of dopamine neurons in the retina.

Although having struggled with glaucoma as a young child, he completely lost his vision playing goalie during a soccer match at the age of 12. Protect your eyes!!

Sports-related eye injuries can happen at any age and skill level, but many can be prevented with the right protective eyewear. Make eye protection the goal!

Today there are 1,259,000 older Ohioans affected by vision problems that, if not detected and treated early, could lead to vision loss. Attend FREE training to become an Adult Vision Screener! Successful participants will be nationally certified to provide vision screenings for three years.

Superspecs: Protecting Eyes in Ohio Superspecs provides protective eye gear to kids in Ohio, and info for everyone everywhere about keeping eyes safe. We aim to make eye injuries unheard of.

On June 9th, nearly 100 advocates from across the country are coming to Washington for Eyes on Capitol Hill, Prevent Blindness's biennial advocacy day. They'll be sharing their stories and asking Congress to make vision and eye health a national priority.
