A public input session will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026, from 3pm to 5pm at the Rider Transit Center at 45 Transit Court NW, Concord, for the purpose of receiving community input regarding the proposal from the cities of Concord and Kannapolis to increase base fare for Rider Transit as well as pass related changes.

City of Kannapolis - Community News and City of Concord Government have reached an agreement to maintain all Rider Transit routes and stops for the 2026-2027 Fiscal Year. The agreement comes after months of negotiation and will preserve essential transportation services for residents while city leaders continue to collaborate on ways to enhance system efficiencies.

Thank you to everyone who was able to come to the Public Hearing at the Rider Transit Center.
We are going to have 8 additional Education Sessions if you have questions about the anticipated changes to the Kannapolis routes and we still have comment forms available for your feedback.

Join us for a public hearing held on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, from 3pm to 5pm at the Rider Transit Center 45 Transit Court NW, Concord, for the purpose of soliciting input regarding proposed changes to the Rider Transit System as a result of proposed budget reductions by the City of Kannapolis, including: the elimination of the current Brown Route; elimination of weekend service on the Blue and Green Routes; and modification of the current Blue Route. Citizens are invited to make written or oral comments in person.

A public hearing will be held on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, from 3pm to 5pm at the Rider Transit Center 45 Transit Court NW, Concord, for the purpose of soliciting input regarding proposed changes to the Rider Transit System as a result of proposed budget reductions by the City of Kannapolis, including: the elimination of the current Brown Route; modification of the current Blue Route; and elimination of weekend service on the Blue and Green Routes.

Rider Transit will be closed on Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day.
Normal Service will resume on Tuesday, May 26th.
