Happy Juneteenth, y’all!

161 years ago today, freedom finally made its way to Texas.

As we celebrate the strength, resilience, and sacrifices of those who came before us, we are also reminded that the work is not done.

It is on all of us to continue the fight. As Texas' own Opal Lee said, “None of us are free until we are all free.”

They're uninsured after Obamacare became too costly. And they're far from alone. 06/17/2026

It’s been six months since Trump and Republicans let the ACA tax credits expire.

Healthcare costs are up, and families are paying more.

Meanwhile, this self-serving lunatic is spending millions of your tax dollars on his ballroom, his birthday bash, and his golf trips.

But somehow we're supposed to believe he's fighting for working families? Please.

They're uninsured after Obamacare became too costly. And they're far from alone. After congressional Republicans let expanded subsidies for Affordable Care Act plans expire at the end of last year, some families have decided the price is too great of a financial burden and canceled their coverage.

Here we go again.

My Republican colleagues just held another hearing attacking the Southern Poverty Law Center for supposedly “manufacturing hate.”

But when it comes to the very real hate groups fueling racism, violence, and extremism across this country, suddenly they have nothing to say.

Instead of confronting the people spreading hate, they’re attacking the people tracking it.

Spare me the theatrics.

When the Supreme Court repeatedly attacks voting rights and bends over backwards to a wannabe king, we should call it what it is.

This Court is racist, corrupt….and the American people deserve better.

Happy Pride Month. 🌈

Pride has always been about more than celebration. It is about courage, community, and the ongoing fight to ensure every person can live openly, safely, and with dignity.

At a time when LGBTQIA+ rights are constantly under attack, I want to be clear: I stand with you.

Your rights matter. Your voice matters. Your existence is not up for debate.

My heart is with the families impacted by today’s devastating explosion and fire in Oak Cliff.

As recovery efforts continue, we are praying for those who lost loved ones, those who were injured, the families who have been displaced, and those who are still unaccounted for.

If you are looking for a family member or need assistance, a family reunification center has been established at W.H. Adamson High School. The American Red Cross is assisting residents and can be reached at 1-800-733-2767.

Thank you to our firefighters, paramedics, and emergency personnel who continue working under incredibly difficult circumstances. Dallas, let’s continue showing up for one another and supporting this community however we can.
