The Senior Source

In the year 1996, the world was going through a cultural reset:

🌐 The internet was taking off as Microsoft released Internet Explorer 3,
🍿 Independence Day, Twister, and Jerry Maguire packed movie theaters while Friends and ER dominated TV,
💿 And our CD players were spinning Alanis Morissette, the Spice Girls, Shania Twain, and Celine Dion.

But more importantly, Gretchen Feinhals joined The Senior Source!

Gretchen has dedicated three decades to and strengthening our community through volunteerism. Throughout her career at The Senior Source, she has developed and led programs that combat isolation, support independence, and connect compassionate people with opportunities to serve their community. Whether she's matching volunteers with nursing home residents, supporting Senior Companions, or growing RSVP, Gretchen has built a legacy of bringing people together, creating lasting connections that help older adults live with dignity and independence while inspiring others to give back.

We are beyond proud of CEO Stacey Malcolmson for her recognition at Project Unity's 5th Annual "Together We" Unity Awards. This week, she received the Legacy Award alongside other Dallas leaders who are bringing communities together and leaving a lasting impact. Way to go, Stacey!

Meet Logan Ragsdale, a librarian of 50 years who now spends his time serving others and couldn't imagine retirement any other way. He is every single day, helping with our events like Beat the Heat, being a supportive resource in our Elder Financial Safety Center, reading to children at weekly storytimes, and so much more. Words of gratitude aren't enough, but we truly appreciate Logan and his heart for service.

Last week, the Pegasus Contemporary Ballet welcomed our AmeriCorps Senior Companion Program volunteers to attend their dress rehearsal. For the second year in a row, they have provided our volunteers with a wonderful opportunity to experience the arts, and we are truly grateful. The performance was absolutely amazing, and we couldn't have enjoyed the experience more. Thank you to the Pegasus Contemporary Ballet for your generosity and continued support of our program!
