Andy Kumar, longtime board member of the US India Chamber of Commerce DFW, and his wife Susanna created the Anand & Susana Kumar Scholarship Endowment at East Texas A&M University — and in 2025, it changed a student's life for the first time.

Shelby Mendez — first-gen student, 4.0 GPA, Marketing major, Honors College — became the inaugural recipient out of 61 applicants. Her scholarship reflects exactly what the endowment was built for: academic excellence, financial need, and entrepreneurial potential.
